It is no coincidence that this only being said a decade after most of the popular 2010s anime came out.
Someone who watched SAO, AoT, OPM, and HxH when they were popular is now over a decade away from those experiences. All of those anime may be mediocre if not outright bad, but there's so much fermented nostalgia in them that you get dogshit threads like this.

When redline torrent was posted on /a/, after that it was banger after bangers every year until all the SAO and AoT clones showed up and studio budgets shrank to the point we get sideshows of inconsistent MSpaint animation on what should be big productions.Even back when Redline released there was QUAILITY around but not like today, it's fucking horrible today.

It was better overall. I would extend it to 2011 because it was probably one of the best years for anime. 2010-11 still had a similar feel to the 2000s. Anime really started to go to shit after 2013 when it blew up in popularity both in Japan and across the world and become more mainstream. So studios started pumping out low effort slop. It no longer had the creativity and "cinematic" feel of 2000s anime. They were much more "anime" now, relying heavily on cliches and formulas just to get the slop out of the door as quickly as possible. The 2000s also had a lot more original and unique anime from almost every genre. 2010s was mostly isekai and slice of life slop adaptations.
