General guidelines:
-Stick figures will not work well; there should be at least some body to the sketch.
-Even very basic color is much more desirable than monochrome.
-Information is power. If the sketch is of a named character, say who it is, from what. If it has important elements that are not readily identifiable on inspection, say what they are.
-The more complex the original image, the less likely it is to come through the process unscathed. Text especially, and other symbolic, typographic elements die in ignominy.
-Being in /aco/, the 'no furry' rule remains in effect. (Genuinely.)

Nope, just denoise - the content wasn't especially unusual, so text was able to handle it. Except for the shag carpeting turning into a rug, and the wood paneling turning into a wood shack, but that's not really something that can be addressed with spot adjustments.

Yeah, I noticed that myself. This is after I did some inpainting alterations so that the cheetah head wasn't directly looking and smiling at the viewer, too. Maybe something in the lora, it really wanted to draw those cheetah heads; there were a few along the way where it started drawing one on the other shoulder, and on her knee.

Hair color - color in general - can be tricky, as the model seems to only 'know' a relatively small number. Often run into that trouble trying to make things hot pink, as opposed to a light and mild pink. Had a similar problem with the hair; tried to address it by generating it as blonde, and then inpainting with the instruction changed to grey hair, and the sort-of-inbetween state it generated I think gave me a result at least in the right approximate neighborhood.

Eesh, that'd be...a very tall order, actually, if you want a good match for their current designs. Fair number of atypical and symbolic elements (the visor things, and the card suites + star); I was able to work with them half-decently before, but now on top of that the characters are overlapping, which makes it significantly worse as I can't (to nearly the same extent) simply tackle one at a time by inpainting.

Hair especially I'm finding a challenge, not just here but elsewhere, my tools to refer to a particular style are quite, quite limited, and the machine will happily draw hair quite differently.

You mean just the lightness of the image itself? No, certainly not; it's not particularly dark at all, I wouldn't say. Even if it were, I typically have photoshop auto-adjust the levels of an image before working on it, so darkness per se isn't an issue unless there's almost no contrast between the initial colors to work with.

Yeah, I know what you mean, noticed that myself. The second in particular, it kept wanting to draw the catsuit as half over her mouth to ameliorate that, but I stopped it from doing so to keep them closer to the original proportions. (In general, I was keeping denoise fairly low in order to maintain the hairstyles, which are really the primary thing distinguishing one from another). You could give me a squished one, or I could just go back into those two and give the machine more freedom in redrawing.

All the more pronounced, unfortunately, when we're going to be introducing color, since that necessitates higher denoise, but I kinda don't think this one would have survived too well regardless.

In a sense, yeah. Especially if we're talking about a black and white sketch. It tends to match up broad strokes, the coloration of regions, while still being flexible on the small scale. So if e.g. the entire image is coated in fine details, that may obscure or eliminate its ability to 'see' the broad strokes, and the whole thing looks like noise, essentially a blank canvas.

Really, the methodology here is better for realizing slightly-vague visions than it is very specific ones.

Sometimes I specify an expression, when it's noticeable in the original sketch. For that, though, I didn't intend to; I think the monster_girl tag may nevertheless tend towards a certain 'intense' expression.

Yeah, really not a good one for this unfortunately. Being in black and white obligates me to use high denoise if I want it to be able to introduce color, so we've inherently scrambling things up, but there's no good way to tell it to draw about 90% of the visual elements that are present here, so we can't get it to draw anything reasonably close to the originals. More or less, this has just gone through the blender.

There's a reason we have that comment at the beginning about any color being better than B&W. It's not crippling if we're starting with something pretty normal (and the image is otherwise drawn fairly 'cleanly'), but it's one of a set of things that absolutely gets in the way.

Maybe, that was actually kind of an annoying one. One of the character is known natively, the other isn't; I found a lora for her, but I can't just apply the lora to the whole picture or else it'll try to draw every girl there as a clone of her. Maybe try to apply some color to the sketch first; getting the right hair/skin tones in place first would help the machine figure out a bit which description applies to whom.

The intention is supposed to be a humanoid version of Nora from Atomic heart. So only one eye visible (The other covered by hair) and it's hot pink with a black sclera. The rest is pink/red of various shades.
If she ends up looking more like a robot, that's fine for Atomic Heart! If she ends up looking more like a metal-skinned jessica rabbit in shades of red and pink, that's also good.
I prefer the more robot-y look in this case, but either is fine.


Not sure which base image for conversion is best, so I put multiple versions for you to choose from. Though I'm somewhat fond of bottom right, bottom middle, and top right. With Bottom Right potentially the best, since I think the red shade the recolor did for the others' skin will just make a dark-skinned gal, which isn't quite what I'm looking for.
I removed the microphone, and all of them have the pink eye/black sclera, but some have the reddish skin, or 'coral blue' lipstick, etc.


Hope this is plausible.

This one makes for another good example of the limitations of the technology, or at least of the methodology I'm using. This may add color, but overall we've lost a tremendous amount of detail and thematic consistency; without question the result is inferior to the input. It's why the thread is aimed at 'sketches,' rather than already-fully-developed art.

To a large extent it comes down to whether I can tag/describe/mention content in a way that the machine recognizes. So, content that is clearly distinguishable and commonly occurring in the sources it was trained on, such as, yes, cumshot, orgasm, eyerolling, blush, etc, that can be added easily, especially because they typically involve only changing relatively small details on the image.

Not specifically, but I mentioned the heart on the helmet, and concept bleed is common. 'Heart' especially is an incredibly strong tag for some reason, mention it and they pop up everywhere.

Mission failed, I'm sad to report. It doesn't want to draw the face with a metallic tone, as I half-suspected could be the case...and more surprisingly, no matter how I try to fight it, it was even less cooperative about drawing the soles of the feet with a metallic tone.

An appropriate lora would likely be able to deal with it, but unfortunately, there seems to be no metal body or liquid metal body lora I can find for either illustrious or pony.

She has crossed heart eyes and is loving the attention. if it's possible to make some loads or eggs pumped into her great, but no worries if it's super basic.

Quickly picking it back up where I left off - if I just pump up the denoise and don't try to fight it on resulting robotishness, it still doesn't really handle the face very well.

Here's actually a not-really-robotic appearance; I asked for shiny skin, rather than metallic, since metallic is for that silvery finish which doesn't apply here.

As you can see, coloration is kind of a persistent issue, my effective vocabulary is rather limited, and despite how obvious it might seem, there's no tag to ask that things be that classic 'hot pink' color; instead, asking for pink typically gives this lighter shade.

Figured as much. The image is just similar to the lineart but looks great imo. was wondering if the ai was going to try and interpret the tentacles the way the image had them or just mess that whole thing up.
