Dire Desires is a special case of WAY TOO cute&funny. It is by far the most cute&funny game they have, and also the darkest given the entire the goal of the game is to torture the cute&funny right out of it. The Guardian/Lost Guardian is the 2nd worse. But Personal Assistant, Whispering Pines, and Blackheart Hotel are pretty clean.

Well, first off, the code that was posted has nothing to do with whatever shitty game you're going to [abandon] in a few months. It's a basic override you can save as an RPY file and drop into the /game folder. No one needs to look at your laughable attempt at your first coding project to implement tweaks to it.

Secondly, encryption won't stop overrides. RPY files are processed after RPAs, so my override file will always fuck your game and its impotent encryption, which is great because then I can fix all the shit you break or implement poorly because you're a 3rd rate weg dev that thinks your spaghetti code is too precious for others to see.

No. All BHU games are on rails as far as the main story arc goes. By going light or dark, you're going to get a bunch of different scenes and dialogue that align with your choice, such as yelling at your daughter vs. being understanding or getting rape-y instead of being loving. But ultimately, all the major plot points will be the same.

I recommend playing a few different ways and making heavy use of 'Skip Seen Text' on 2nd playthroughs so you can see what changes. In my experience, BHU games are their best and have the most scenes when going dark.

There's a few people on that team working on different projects. Right now, Janus is working on The Lost Guardian Chapter 4, and Seath is working on the last 2 chapters of Personal Assistant. It sounds Seath is also working on Revelations of Whispering Pines Chapter 2, but I'm not entirely sure about that.

If you like Quinn, you need to have a DIK affinity in episode 6 for her to accept your help and go back to your room (and get on her route), so make sure you've made enough DIK major choices (six I think) before that moment in the story, but after that Quinn doesn't have any other barriers, so you can swing back to Neutral or whatever and not worry about alignment. The only problem you're going to have is that in episode 8 you'll have to choose between the Bella path and the Others path (where Quinn's path is). If you pick Bella you'll end up dumping everyone else. If you pick Quinn, you can keep having an affair with Jade and whatever other side-girls you want. But if you're DIK alignment you get kicked off Jill's route in ep6 or ep7, and Maya/Josy won't accept you if you have DIK alignment in ep4, so it all kinda works itself out automatically. If you wanna fool around with Bella and Sage up until that point in ep8, it's all good, you'll get Bella/Sage/Others as the choices instead.

The only Other's girls with any alignment/status requirements are all before ep8, and it's mostly just Sarah/Melanie. Sarah/Melanie need DIK/Neutral alignment in ep4 if you want their shower scene (if you're staying w/ Sage), Massive DIK status for their hot tub scene in ep5, and DIK alignment for Sarah's scene in ep6. Camila/Mona need Huge DIK status for one scene in ep3. Rose (if you're staying with Derek instead of Sage in ep4) needs DIK/Neutral alignment for her only lewd scene. Then there's Becky's scene that needs DIK alignment in ep7 but Becky is probably the #1 most likely character to give you an STD in the future so good luck.
