But really, as a goblin fan, I love seeing them in everything from grungey slutwear to prim office lady garb. They suit lots of different fantasy / medieval archetypes. Some anons like primitive goblins wearing little more than a loin cloth or furs, but that's not my cup of tea. Gnomes suit eccentric clothing, Halflings longer, more modest rustic clothing and you can't beat an impractically short blacksmith apron on a Dwarven lass, with or without ornate shiny armour pieces and jewellery.

Modern and fantasy clothing is cut to frame and accentuate the female form, and with their obscene bodies shortstacks are arguably hotter with some clothing than completely naked.

Going to slightly disagree. I think the head size is good, but it's the lower half that's too small. Her arms are too long compared to legs, so slightly widening the hips and lengthening legs by 5-10% at most might do the trick.

Yeah, looking good! That little bit of length on the leg makes her look way faster, and the bigger ass shows the muscular form very well. The neck definitely helps, but still think the head was ok sized before. Doesn't make her worse by being smaller so I'll just chalk that up to personal taste.
Only ignorable critiques otherwise since they aren't really worth changing for this pic. Noticed you didn't do the back leg, but that's not important. And with the longer legs her dust trail would be slightly lower.

Everyone here has a different specific set of likes and dislikes, but I'm fairly certain at least one thing is common. A sense of personality. Looking at the image should have some insight into the character shown. It's real easy to make porno poses and faces (I mean, for artists). But to have the character personality show through an image makes a huge difference. As an example I've given in the past, Midna is the perfect example most of the time.
Now if you mean just physically, I like big hips, medium thighs, proportional feet, slightly longer and thinner arms and fingers, pointy heavy breasts, short pointes ears, and angular features whether triangle, pentagon, or diamond shaped. Also green. Goblins and peridot hit my tastes perfectly

I don't want to come off as insulting but I think the biggest issue is just the raw quality of your drawing. I like the face/hair, it's cute and expressive, but the body falls short. The hands especially are kind of bad, but most of the forms aren't right in one way or another. I went to the @Pyxses account on Twitter (Which I assume is yours, I couldn't find anything under that handle on Gelbooru) and I think your other work is much better, though your general composition is fairly basic. I particularly liked the Argonian drawing, it's got a good understanding of forms, shapes, and even a nice pose with the spear behind her back. I get that this Poppy image might've just been a quick piece as opposed to something conceptualized and drawn over a few days, but quality is paramount.

The sad reality of art when it comes to "success" is that even for pretty basic metrics like "Followers on Twitter" you're at the mercy of an extremely competitive market. Maybe 0.1% of people who regularly post get more than 500 likes on any given post. I'm not an illustrator, but I've posted some of my figure work on Twitter and I think I average about 5 likes. That's fine for me, I rarely use Twitter and have a pretty niche field even within my hobby, but it's just how it is. You can try to game the algorithm by posting regularly and trying to engage with other accounts but ultimately the open art market is a cruel mistress. It's not enough to just be "good" you have to be great, and even then you typically need some kind of edge. An X-factor that makes your art stand out and keeps people coming back. For shortstack stuff this might mean an OC that really catches on or being able to do one aspect of the fetish really well. Though again, a lot of this is luck-based and can really depend on you being able to please the algorithm. You have to both find your audience AND make sure they're seeing something they love

Man I feel like a dickhead for typing some of this so I'll try to answer your original question; What do I look for in a shortstack artist?

My favorite aspects of shortstacks is that you can manhandle them. They're little bundles of tits and ass that you can sling over your shoulder or comfortably support with your penis alone. I like that male domination aspect, but another thing I appreciate about the genre is that most shortstack characters are hornballs themselves. I like maledom, but not necessarily BDSM or rape, so a girl that's eager for sex is always a nice bonus. So I'd appreciate an artist that can really nail that kind of dynamic between a strong, big dicked guy and a small-yet-curvy girl who are both into each other. I'm not picky or demanding about this dynamic, and I can appreciate when it's inverted for more "power bottom" characters like Midna. In fact I do like the teasing aspect that a lot of shortstack stuff. But as a general rule I like the dominant man/voluptuous female dynamic. If you're looking for inspiration, Vammzu has a few image collections that display this well.

Cmon now, I'm not trying to scare you off or discourage you, I'm just saying how I feel. For what it's worth, I think you're a good artist with a lot of potential. It's just that it's not easy to grab a big audience or improve further unless you're willing to practice a lot, which by necessity means laboring in relative obscurity for a long time. But this applies to almost everything. Most business owners don't start seeing profits until years after they've started their business.

If you really want to not do shortstack stuff anymore then fine, life is short and you should draw what you want. But you've got potential and you shouldn't squander it over feeling like you're not good enough to even try.

I think you definitely understand how to draw the body type, some of the other stuff you've posted on twitter shows good understanding of shortstack proportions. A lot of people just draw them as short girls, but I think you get the "chibi but not quite" aspect pretty well.

Not sure what you mean by this. Like you don't know the characters and how they'd act well enough? Or you don't feel confident drawing them? If it's the former, don't worry so much about that. I don't know anything about League of Legends but I'll always show up for a yordle picture.

As another anons have said, it's not just about height and body proportions, for shortstacks it's also about their personality and expression. If your 'stack lacks character, she'll always come across as flat, no matter how big a pair of boobs you put on her.

Shortstacks are still a bit niche as well, though the increasing popularity of goblin girls baffles even me, they still haven't set the world on fire (not yet anyway) and we have detractors that I won't mention here. All I'd suggest is you keep working on your art for your own sake. I hope you don't give up on drawing shortstacks, but continue to learn anatomy and perspective rules so you're better able to break them later.

There's a few, but you kind of have to be willing to stretch the definition of "mainstream". Like, is Ilulu from Dragonmaid mainstream? It's popular enough but not Zelda levels of mainstream appeal like with Midna. Same goes for the fairy girls from Raymond Origins/Legends. Outside of Yordles/World of Warcraft goblins and Midna there's not a lot. Maybe it's just changing cultural norms but I feel like people are more prudish these days, so you get less "stacked" characters in general. For example Peridot or Amethyst from Steven Universe have the right proportions (Short female, large head, somewhat stubby limbs) but neither of them are particularly curvy outside of fanart. I find the fetish is more western but when I think of recent shortstack characters Japanese names start coming up, mostly because of probability. You can still make a girl curvy in the Orient, and some of em end up short as well. Though personally I think characters like Uzaki-chan and that chick from Working!! stretch the definition of shortstack.

There's a few. On the anime side, characters like Ilulu from Dragon Maid, La Brava from MHA, and Hana Uzaki come to mind. Games lack obvious main characters but they have a lot of races that are depicted as shortstacks sometimes, like goblins or Lalafells from FFXIV. Characters like Midna and Rouge the Bat are the only ones that come to mind right away.

It's been mentioned before, but what qualifies as a shorstack is contentious because of the range of proportions and body types. If you personally stretch your definition wide enough, technically things like an on-model Judy Hopps would qualify.

What would be the best software if I wanted to make shortstack characters? I can only think of blender but idk if it's good for stylized characters.

While not great, you can use sims 4.

Using these mods:
GODJUL1's Height Slider (extreme);
Expanded Head Size Range (to make it look cuter with the smaller height);
Breast Augmentation;
PeachyThicc;
Candy Shoppe Skintones (if you want unnatural skin colors);
Khitsule pointy ears (self explanatory);
Luumia's vanilla skin;
Cmar Breast Separation (good for customizing tits further);

If you know about sim modding then you can just get the usual body mods, but if you don't, get either EVE V9.2 or Luumia TIT-E.
There's infinite custom content so you can get pretty much any clothing you can think of, the downside is that the height mod means sex animations don't work.
Still, if you want to create a character to use as a reference, it's not bad.
There's also ATLYSS, but there's barely any customization on that (other than tit and ass size).

If you're trying to make 3D models from scratch then Blender is perfectly fine for making stylized shortstack characters. I've seen people do that online plenty of times, and there was a guy in here a few threads ago that was doing 3D shortstack models in Blender. The real trick is just learning how to 3D model, and figuring out how to texture those models so they look good. Blender might not be "Industry standard" but it's honestly pretty close. I've used both ZBrush and Blender and aside from the fact that Blender is free (You can just pirate ZBrush) I find Blender to be much more user friendly.

The only difficulty I had was that a lot of good, stylized, character-focused tutorials were based in ZBrush. It's been a while but I don't remember any specific tool that Blender lacked, but like I said feel free to pirate ZBrush.

Not a britbong but from what I've gathered the EU is pushing similar online safety/ID checks for 18+ material, and the UK and the mainland seem to be coordinating it. In general there seems to be a push for online censorship and/or real ID verification across the western world. For instance Australia also wants to make it so that people have to verify their ages to access social media. There are some similar bills in some US states to use ID verification to access pornography but this is a state-by-state issue. No, the EU made a set of guidelines on how children should be treated (allow easy muting and blocking, that kind of stuff), nothing about id verification.
For some reason, whoever's in charge of it on xitter thought it was a good idea to apply it to the whole european continent, instead of just the UK.
