The free version is very limited. That said you do not need to maintain a sub to keep using it. You can pay for the month and then cancel your subscription and keep using whichever version you got the key for. You would only need to sub again if you wanted to update to a newer version if the update happened after your sub was up.

I'm about ready to hang it all up, fellas.

I'm not quite sure what the hell I did, but none of my favorited, preloaded morphs are showing up in my actual favorites morph list. The only ones that show up are the purple "built-in" ones along with one or two of ones I've made using morphmerger in the past.

The only "new" thing, that I've never tried before is I tried to combine the loose files from a SplineVR look that I had just downloaded. It didn't seem to work when I looked for it in game, but then I got preoccupied with everything else.

Luckily, all of my favorite appearances still show up and if I load them in, some of my favorite morphs will populate again, for that session.

Equally as concerning, some clothes items are straight up not populating, even if the model is supposed to be wearing them.

I've checked and all my vars are in their appropriate folders in AddonPackages, so I'm at my wits end.

Any insights?

Sounds like some kind of cursed fuckery, man. Maybe it's something to do with a game version? Did you update recently or something like that? Think about the timeframe then the problem started and try to remember what you did that might have caused this?
If it all fails you can try doing clean reinstall and transfer all your shit manually from the broken one, it's gonna take some time but might help.

How do you use diviningrod? It never seems to work properly. Is there a better addon that does the same thing?

There is a lot of settings in diviningrod that you have to tweak around to suit your models and positions, it's a pain in the ass to set up.
I found the the best results are achieved by using custom target thing - get empty atom, set is as target and place it inside the body, you can get quite good results using this method.

LFE HeightMeasure has an option to let you set up your own body size ratios. There are various art sites that can help you get this right. You don't need to depend on others to get started.
Also if you aren't using TBD BodyNet to resize your ladies to fit the scene, then I don't know what to tell you. It works on guys too, though not as well. That's great for /ss/ folks like me.

The current challenge I’m having is modifying height of models for more accurate lookalikes. Using the scale slider is fine to an extent so long as they are within an inch or three of each other, but putting someone who is 5’8” next to someone who is 5’3” looks “off”. They just look like shrunken people instead of a realistic height difference. I have tried incorporating the head scale slider and that helps a bit.

I have a 1060 and manage to set up scenes in desktop with all kinds of shit just fine. FPS does take a hit then there is more than one person, but it's manageable...
In VR it kinda struggles, but still can run simple scenes with a couple of people at medium-low settings, which is okay for my needs.

I don't think there is any reason to wait, adjust your settings and play around on what you have, so by the time you update your hardware you already will be familiar with controls and whatnot.

Has there been any "breakthrough" with any plugins to make the models feel more alive rather than just being a glorified poser with a few good albeit really sanitized scenes? Stuff like pseudo AI where you can tell a character to move somewhere and change poses naturally instead of snapping between poses or dynamic reactions to what's happening. In general just making the game more sandboxy. I know things like Body Language exist but that's only a sliver of what I'm asking about.

Cursed anon here, I kinda figured out what the issue, but not really. All I had to do was rescan packages in the manager, but I've never had to really do that before.

Yea bro there are vam scenes that integrate with the voxta chat bot. They're setup with different actions and scenarios you can play out. Once you get the hang of it you can try making custom actions and animation too, but I'll admit it's a bit tricky.

Life is suffering. Everytime someone brings out an AddonsPackages folder cleaner, it just destroys every saved scene I have. If only I knew 7 years ago when I started using VaM that subfolders within AddonPackages were still read in the same way when you flatten the folder itself.

Now I'm too scared to delete anything incase I destroy any of the 40gb worth of Json files dependencies in the Scenes folder that I've been making over the last 7 odd years too, especially after so many older files and "muh domestic violence/non-consensual assets" shit has been pruned.

And yes I have it all backed up, but copying over 5tb composed of nearly a million files takes an insane amount of time, even with USB 3.2; it's just the computational power required that slows the entire process down at that point.

That Solid Snake fag on F95 won't let me, I've tried. I even converted it into a .tor and told him to just download it and curate it himself but he had a cry about it. There's so many rules on what you can and can't share anymore I can't be fucked.

If sharing your Scene folder becomes a thing then I'll do that and then share the AddonsFolder that way, but I can't be fucked leaving my PC on 24/7 for 1 or 2 people to dl'd it at 1mbps.
