depending on your goals, what I tend to do is just multiply the width on the character's overall model by sliiiightly more than the height and depth. To get to Alisaie's size from a minimum height midlander, I usually go with X:0.93, y: 0.9, and Z:0.91.

It's not the most elegant solution, but it eyeballs out the discrepancy in the width of her face from that mod pretty well and you'd have to be looking really, really closely at her from a lot of different angles to notice the slight distortion in the rest of her body.

I'll have to try that out, one of the main issues with that mod is that her forehead is too tall as well which makes a lot of the difference between the two

Using guidelines in Gimp to measure, The noses line up, the mouth, the chin, roughly the eyes, the shape is slightly different, but the ears are too high and since the forehead is too tall her hair sits higher in the mod

I'm sure someone out there has made a mod to body swap alisaie instead of having to go through all this that way you could use her actual model, I thought I had one in the past but I'm sure with Dawntrail, even if it were found, it is broken as hell

My other thought was that maybe If I knew enough about Penumbra, there could potentially be a way to assign a body type if you knew the right values but I have no clue

Hopefully someone eventually makes a body swap mod for the stock head or if one exists for dawntrail, hopefully I can eventually find it

trouble with using Alisaie's actual model is that you wouldn't be able to change her outfit, most of the unique NPCs have custom head models which don't quite fit correctly onto standard bodies, which is why you can put Zenos' head on but the neck is too thick and doesn't attach to the body right; in Alisaie and Alphinaud's cases specifically, they use the character data for 'young' elezens or midlanders, which is a completely different data path from regular PC-accessible characters and is also unisex with a male torso.

This is why all the Alisaie mods we've seen have been head model swaps; it's the closest you can get without actually changing a player character to the young datapath, which not only breaks everything internally, but also nobody's gonna mod for that unless they wanna get put on a list.

I've come close to a combination with that Xivmod, the Custom Scale settings provided here, using Customizer+, and Glamourer Automation, and Penumbra

I can get it to work for the Battle NPC in trusts/duty support (only tested in one level), but applying the changes to the Event NPC leads to either Tposing or spaghettification and I don't think Customizer+ is affecting Event NPC, She Tposes in solution 9 when changed to any race, and in the cutscene I viewed at an inn room she spaghettified

I'm hoping I can get the Event NPC figured out since that is more frequently seen but at this point I doubt it

You'll run into a separate issue here, which is that there are about a billion different Event NPCs all named Alisaie and it's really tricky to figure out which one the game is using at any given time and you'd have to mod all of them separately in order to get it to be consistent across cutscenes. Big headache. You'd think a company this long-running would have a more reasonable way to work out how to make changes to an NPC than just straight up making a separate unique copy of it each time.

Unfortunately need a bit of inspiration and also want to find a tasteful balance between thirst pics and shameless goonshots.

That is not an issue and would only be an issue on Updates but plugins don't work then anyways

Glamourer and Customizer+ already links to all Event IDs and Battle NPC IDs when selecting the Character you want to Modify for Automation, no tracking down IDs is required

I can for example, Make Y'shtola topless in all Cutscenes and Duties by pointing her Glamourer Automation to the Y'shtola (Event NPC) and the Y'shtola (Battle NPC) Category with whatever glamour I set for each Automation

Y'shtola works fine with 0 issues, it has also been tested on Sphene with no issues, it's just for whatever reason, when you raceswap Alisaie's Event NPC to use the facemod she breaks but not the Battle NPC for whatever reason even though they are both configured the same way

Are rough edges on my character model just something I need to suck up and deal with? I keep getting these shitty little jagged edges and quality loss after taking a screenshot (png, anti-a, no gpose depth of field, etc etc), and the edges in game itself aren't anywhere near as bad as the screenshot.

I usually do front, side, and back-but-slightly-elevated-and-from-further-away. Trick to that though is that you tend to either need to turn the intensity of all three lights way down or use the manual light intensity and set That slider down a bunch, cuz the lights are really strong by default and have a tendency totally blow out most shaders.

You'd generally wanna set your lights on a case by case scenario and don't necessarily need to use 3 of them - I usually find an in game light source and work around it to make it simpler.

To break this down a bit: this is the barracks in Gangos, there's a lantern on the far right that acts as the main light source. After setting the shaders up I start adding more lights, you can see in the third pic that there's an orange light on the left side that act as the rim light, positioned opposite of the main light source. There isn't a specific way to do lights but readibility is the most important part of the shot when the pose is done and having one light outlining the silhouette does the trick well enough, the rest comes with practice (I also tried to add glowing monsters as actors to move them freely as a light source, might want to try that too to play around and see if you find a method that works better for you!)

These ones were taken in the same place but with the lantern far away and the same principles apply, just experiment and scout locations. Natural outdoor light is always the best though, the boat on Costa de Sol for the summer event is very good!
