It is really good. You should continue it on. The opening first hour or so is the weakest, but it ramps up really well. It has the potential of being better slice of life than BADIK, in my opinion, since it's more grounded, a bit slower, and a much better drama.

pink has said in the past how many chapters he wants to hit in the game before moving on. it's not supposed to be a 0.7 game or something, i'm not really sure why you'd use that against it. it's a large game with a very large underlying plot that's been in play since essentially the very beginning. i would agree that if the drug stuff wrapped up and then there was another huge arc it'd start to get a little played out, however. thankfully there's been a lot of stuff in the game to keep things fresh - new parties, new large plots, etc. dunno why anyone would be getting bored of it, doesn't seem like that's the case with majority of players anyway.

When you gotta release a complete game to make money you gotta plan and make decisions on what is important enough to have and focus on, and what is useless fluff.
Now, I don't say fluff has no place, but when devs can do whatever for how long the feel like they start to focus on what they deem fun and not what will improve the product. in some 1 in a 1000 cases it works well, and I think that was the case of his previous game, which is why I supported him during the early days of Eternum, but as you said - he lost the plot.

Because scoping is a very important and underrated skill.
I think BaDIK is a great game, but I really think it could use some trimming. DPC is very good at what it does so it never feels offensive or really bad, but I do think if you cut out 20% of the weaker parts the game would have been better.
Its the same with Brandon Sanderson novels, being able to write decent 1k pages books is great, it does not mean it wouldn't work better after trimming some fat and getting it to 700.
Also, a 10 years development time is unreasonable and makes me lose interest, it obviously works for him but I, as a fan, find it hard to be as interested and engaged with it as I was 5 years ago.

Still, the numbers are great and overall the quality is high. I just don't love how long it has gotten, which is 100% my subjective opinion.

I'll never understand people wishing DPC would wrap up BaDIK. I can understand wishing the updates were faster, but wanting it to be over? What the fuck else is there to look forward to? Maybe half a dozen decent big games with worse schedules and smaller updates? More AI slop and Honey Selectu? A few more pages of abandoned v0.2s? Just eat the free cake and be happy. I personally hope he changes his mind and keeps that shit going for 5 seasons or more, even if the story goes full retard, it's still better than 95% of the other wegs out there.

Card game may have taken a while, but it wasn't solved with a joke but instead clever usage and abusage of magic to remind you that the MC and the girls are actually hyper competent. You deciding whether you're okay with fucking Miya while she's drunk off her ass from that dude sabotaging the chocolates wasn't played for laughs but instead a serious question of the player's morality even if there are no long term consequences. Stella's breakdowns weren't played for laughs nor was it solved by them, while even compounding the extra drama of the bloody child version of her we see in her head. Cat girl's retelling of her abduction wasn't played for laughs, even if it did have the light hearted start of her meeting your sister.

Yea, dumb problems like the MC losing all of the girls on the roulette table are solved with dumb solutions like the dues ex machina girl telling the dealer to let them go, Stella getting railroaded to a horror movie sets up the joke of it being shit and her being overly worried about nothing, and even the occasional bit of drama gets resolved by humor like catgirl deservedly mocking you for feeling like you're taking advantage of her but even that's a very human way to deal with a serious emotional topic in a way that doesn't feel confrontational.

Just finished catching up with Law School. I had never heard of it before for some reason. It's ok for a BaDIK Lite, but it's painfully obvious that's what it is. The "let me recap the story" followed by unskippable/unclickable slideshow of 3 scenes is really fucking unnecessary and annoying as hell and it happens way too much.
