They rewrite the Miraculous rules constantly throughout the show. That special introduced that using life energy thing but then the show pretty much never did anything with it itself. After "maturing" and unlocking the limiters and being able to use their powers over and over it doesn't seem like that's even an issue either. Regardless though, the assumed physical strain of running around and fighting super powered bad guys I'd think be bad for a teen with one foot in the grave so Rose is a weird choice. Maybe that's why she has what is effectively the cheerleader Miraculous.
