Not really. It was solely in DM in the way you know it. The dub did call some stuff in GX shadow games but they're never acknowledged as such in the original JP version though certain duels and events do take on the Shadow Realm aspects. 5Ds is also sorta the same as GX where the Earthbound Immortals take on aspects of Shadow Duels with their specific duels and require spirit sacrifice but it's more connected to the Duel Monster Spirit World. Then everything past 5Ds is it's own self contained universe.
