found out today I have this disease, called acute lymphoblastic leukemia.

luckily this was detected at an early stage. I have to begin taking chemotherapy immediately.
what nonconventional things should I be doing to increase my chances?

i think that if I survive it, it will give me a new purchase on life and be a net positive

I hear your attitude matters dramatically. I guess eat as best you can and maybe take multivitamins. Ask your doctor's advice though because medications and stuff can have weird effects on how things interact in your system. You're kinda like the serial killer from the Saw franchise. That's good.

I don't want to give any wrong advice.

But I've heard (please read/ask specialist before you do) that avoiding sugar for example and alkaline diet can help while you're in therapy.

Sorry to hear that OP.
Best advice is to listen to your doctors, eat healthy and sorround yourself with good family and friends that help you stay positive when therapy makes you feel like shit.

Quite anecdotal, but why wife worked as an oncology nurse and always said: the "well educated" and well informed [about the cancer] patients have the lowest chances and worse side effects. So a certain amount of ignorance may be a bliss and helps focusing on a positive outcome.

I wish you the best.

Read up on it, but not the broad internet, which is full of quackery and misinformation. Study medical journals and postings. Become the world's foremost authority on the disease. It is well within possibility that you can make yourself more expert than your doctor and can call his attention to something new.

It is a cliche to say "They're discovering new cures everyday" but in this case that is actually true.

Not directly applicable, but typical:

If I were in the same situation I would ignore chemo and take the Norman Cousins route. Seriously. I would not want my stem cells destroyed by chemo, you never know what longevity therapy in the future might require them.

You should do conventional things to increase your chances. Your oncologist would have a better idea about this than 4chan. I saw a YouTube short the other day that said many cancer patients die from muscles wasting so their survivability is increased by increasing muscle mass. You can talk to your doctor about this and any evidence based methods to improve your quality of life and or survivability.

Literal mouth-breather retard post full of the dumbest false medical claims I see to date. What is wrong with you?

Op if the ‘source’ ends in “.com” it was probably written by an actual retard. Please listen to your oncologists lol.

A .gov website is in line with what this anon is saying. https://www.cancer.gov/news-events/cancer-currents-blog/2025/fructose-tumor-growth-liver-lipids

The body needs sugars to work so don't go too crazy, but cutting back on stuff with high fructose corn syrup may not be the worst idea. Ask your doctor, don't take advice from 4chan, etc.

But godspeed and good luck anon. I hope you pull through.

Carnivore diet, lots of saturated fats, no sugar, no carbs. Hot sauna and cold baths if your body allows it. See the sun often. You and your metabolism can beat this.

Taking vitamin supplements will prevent the chemotherapy from working. Don't do that.

Meditate. It does nothing to the cancer itself but it lowers stress, and stress makes cancer worse. And being highly stressed is common in cancer patients for obvious reasons.

Also avoid magic cure-alls that reek of bullshit like what some anons commented here.
