Are depression/anxiety/loneliness/etc real reasons for falling behind or all we all just not trying hard enough?

I thought I was lonely or depressed but now that I learn about sociopathy it seems that was rather the case. I shunned everyone because I found them annoying and it's a real hassle for me trying to act like I care.

of course they're real reasons for falling behind. if they started at 13 and you were locked out of hitting social developmental milestones there's no therapy or book learning you can do a decade later to fix that

People need a reason to fight, a reason to live.
Working hard because "you're supposed to" or "someone told me to" inevitably leads to losing motivation and fading away. People need reasons

You need to be able to meet the mental illness on its own terms. If you are really anxious or depressed, it probably isnt a good idea to start a medical degree. But you should maybe get a part time job and go from there. Totally giving up and just staying at home to do drugs or jack off or play games is when you arent trying hard enough.

yes they are valid reasons and dont let anyone tell you otherwise, it is however your responsibility to fix them.

like i got depressed at 12 and spent 5 years feeling like a robot, you dont just snap out of that. you have to take it seriously and realise you need medication and to realise you arent the same as other people and thats ok

>trying hard enough
Are you shaming yourself to get out of an emotional problem? That doesn’t make much sense does it. If you’re depressed or anxious it’s either because of a real source (your shit parents or shit life) or because of some neurosis that you focus on instead of the shit life.
Try to reduce shame, have some empathy for yourself. Address the emotional problems so you can succeed at the rest of whatever you’re trying to do.

Not true, a quality therapist is literally built to unsure what you’re fucked up with from childhood/etc
ESPECIALLY if you start feeling the same fucked up way towards them

you're already at 100% capacity and don't let anyone tell you you aren't. they usually want your money
