Are forums still a thing? Is there an actual active like, real message board?
Random chat rooms and stuff?
I miss the old internet.
I don't understand social media.
Bluesky and Discord and Instagram and Facebook and Reddit and Tumblr and all that are bullshit and weird.
They have bizarre formats that are hard to read and confusing to engage with.
I know forums, I like forums, they're what I grew up on.
But every forum I've ever loved has been eaten by a subreddit or a discord replacing it.
I feel trapped on 4chan becsuse its style of threads being posted in a list with pages to browse and posts in a chronological line instead of spiraling out into infinite unparsable trees of replies are all I feel capable of understanding.
I miss having fun on the internet.
I miss talking to people and getting into internet fights and putting effort into the things I make and the way I spend my time online.
I feel so alienated from the new web.
