I am 24 but I feel like I have the brain of a child, I have a strong dislike for "adult" things (tatoos, drinking coffee, alcool, driving, partying). I had one occasion to have sex but I refused because the idea disgusted me (we broke up aferwards). I only leave my house to have my daily walk (at night so that I have less strangers to greet).
I have been thinking of getting a diagnosis but I don't want doctors to think I'm one of those tiktok users that call themselves autistic because it's trendy. And I don't really feel comfortable with talking to personal issues to a person I don't know, even though it's a medical professional.

> tatoos, drinking coffee,
I don’t think these are autistic things. Lots of people hate tattoos are coffee tastes terrible. Way worse than alcohol. Idk if driving is.

Lots of things can be linked to having child brain, not just autism. Adhd will do it too. So will sociopathy, or bpd or npd, or being schizoid. Basically any disorder that made socialisation a problem = you will be emotionally stunted.

Hell you dont even need a disorder for it either. Just overbearing parents who controlled you and kept you indoors, but also didn't teach you shit either. That’ll make any adult have a childbrain.

Autism is the most likely of all to cause social stunting and emotional freezing, yeah, but its not diagnosed based on social issues. Its sensory issues.

Try the Raads-R test online.

Interesting, I got a score of 179.
>Language subtotal: 9
>Social relatedness subtotal: 103
>Sensory/motor subtotal: 35
>Circumscribed interests subtotal: 32
But because of the repartition of the points it’s possible that I’m just asocial.

NTA, but I'm 26 and I was tested and diagnosed as autistic when I was very young. I tried this test and got 151.
>Language: 15
>Social: 77
>Sensory/motor: 38
>Interests: 21
I was raised to hide a lot of my autistic habits from people and as I got older I spent a lot of time studying socialization skills which helped me further cover up my autism. Then I went to college and crashed hard once I got stressed out from classes and the required group projects. I was also always behind my peers when it came to reaching life milestones and pretty much never got involved in adult activities. I spend most of my time indoors in low stimuli environments away from people besides family members. One on one conversations with people I know are fine, but once groups get involved I completely lose track and fade into the background. When I was a kid up to a teenager I had very poor hand-eye coordination and even now I still struggle to catch and throw things.

yeah that's what I imagine people who get repulsed of tattos to be like, children in the body of adults pretending to care about serious stuff and adult matter not understanding what any of that really means

Thank you for your reply, I do relate a lot to what you are saying. University is extremely overwhelming because not only have I got to deal with people with strong personalities but I also have to drive myself there which I dislike (I am an awful driver, there are too many things to be careful of).
I don’t know if it’s a sign but I am not good at making eye contact, thankfully people I’m close to have accepted it that I prefer to look elsewhere than them but that doesn’t mean I’m not listening. I have to force myself when I am in front of professors though.
I hope you’re doing okay where you are now.
