Im a half retarded loser with no prospects living out of my moms place and im pushing 30. Ive meditated on this for a long time and life the way im living doesnt have any more to offer me. so instead of offing myself i figured i may aswell hitchhike around the usa for aslong as i can manage since ive got nothing to lose anyway and i can always end it at some point in the future.

Any advice on minimizing the risk of being murdered/raped while doing this?

Start stealing and become a burden on society. First thing you should do is quit your worthless wagie job. Don't bother applying for benefits, welfare or any other government assistance unless you really can't help yourself.
