Have you been to a speech therapist? There are many "cures" that all seem to work with some people but not others, so you may have to try a few.

The one common element seems to be to break your normal speaking and breathing rhythm. The last king of England learned a whole new way of breathing (See the movie "The King's Speech"). Country singer Mel Tillis would sing the blocking word. Actor Stephen Fry learned to think a few words ahead, spot the blocking word coming, and quickly substitute a safer one.

As far as I know stuttering can be neurological or a feed back look for trying to listen to your own words and then becoming more self aware as you make more mistakes.

Anyone can be made to stutter if you put a slight delay on there own speech playback.

So if it's not neurological you have to break the feed back loop on listening to yourself. I think there is a well established set of exercises for this.

Try and see if there are any resources or charities that can help you with speech therapy. Keep in mind that most people are going to understand that you have a physical problem and it's not your fault. Bullies don't want you to know this but they're outnumber; considerably.

Try looking for online resource, and iggy those resources are behind a pay wall, a VPN to torrent on is just $10-$15 on average. Find other communities for people who stutter, they might be able to help you find far more and higher quality resources than you might be able to find on your own.

And I know it's easier said than done but don't feel ashamed for your speech issues. If someone is going to judge you solely based on a stutter, they're honestly doing you a solid by showing that they're a garbage person, so you know to avoid them.

I got speech therapy in kindergarten and I think it fucked me up for life. I don't even remember it, I just remember a mean old woman and a dark hallway. I think I got MKUltra'd or something. Whatever they did I'm suffering yet another mental breakdown right now and I'm stuttering again when I get nervous, which is basically all the time.

Nah depends on your age but I am early 30s and I remember my special ed classes. I was just dyslexic and they just made us sit and read repeatedly. It was kind of like making the wheel chair kid life walk him self out of the chair repeatedly. I have no doubt they wanted to help us but had no clue how.

I said it earlier but anyone can be made to stutter if you fuck with there hearing. Idk try more modern shit, maybe talk with friends or read a book aloud with head phones on.

Not a doctor but my understanding of stuttering is that it's mostly psychosomatic so if you can break the illusion it goes away, but while you can't it's a real as anything else.

Best of luck my friend .

Stuttering can be the result of serious self esteem issues from childhood trauma. See the movie The Kingโ€™s Speech for a good example of this. I know this because I went through the same thing myself and it was cured through seeing the school psychologist.
