I feel my mental sharpness has been waning sharply over the years. I make a lot of small mistakes at work, which although not terrible make me look as though I overlook basic things easily. I also sometimes have asked dumb questions/made stupid points and I get the feeling people judge me a lot for that.

I’ve also made a couple of very dumb mistakes while driving, although I’m safe, I scraped a car while parking and in another instance annoyed a cop enough that he came over to basically scold me. Looking back I feel extremely dumb for doing that.

I’m still productive enough at my job. I still manage to understand complex tasks pretty well and can talk at length about various topics. But I mess up simple things, forgetfulness, etc which makes me think something is actually wrong with me.

When in doubt see a doctor. Your health is more important than a bill. You might want to check upstairs too. You might be going through a depressive episode. Most people don't realize this but depression can effect you both physically and mentally.

I'd recommend seeing a basic doctor first and going from there.
