I lost a lot of money on sports betting. I'm out of work, and in a few pains, I got a good sum, but I lost everything. At first, everything seemed great, but now I'm out of money to make some money. I mainly bet on basketball games from all over the world. How the hell do I make money? How does that work?

“Options trading” is not for everyone but it is probably alright for people with balls like yours. Watch thirty hours worth of videos about that shit.

many such cases of sports betting apps ruining people. You can get voluntarily ban yourself from the apps so you can't make the same mistake again, and I highly recommend you do that since these programs are intentionally designed to be addicting and keep you betting until you lose everything.

As for how to make money, maybe you should try getting a job?

I run a very small sports book for friends and I can tell you it is the most addictive form of gambling a smart player can get into.
Stay away from the apps and gamble with a friendly local book. We are interested in keeping you with enough money to keep playing.

I recommend you stop and gamble for jelly beans and 6 packs of beer, better go cold turkey.

Sports betting should be fun and a way to turn a big win into a nice profit. Most the guys I know use the apps and they just lose money and have no community to banter with while the odds change.

Small friend group books are what made sports betting fun... BAKA.

You won't get into debt with me. I'll close your book if you don't pay and or if it gets late regularly.
Also cash up front until I know you will enough.

Almost no one gets to owe me unless it's a fast thing. ill give you 300 odds on any given soccer corner kick any day, but not more than 50 bucks. This is run out of a fund that is only a few K above what is paid in at any given time.

Seriously. And really. It is not for everyone. I have considered it but I think you need that pizzaz that a gambler has. You don’t only go with your gut. There’s systems that you can incorporate your own systems into and you can really make a lot more progress in hedging your bets. It’s practically stealing, if you can keep your head, and a lot less risky. People do it for a living.
I would not recommend to those not in your position. You can fucking do it.

To be clear I make out an average of 5% of everything I handle. I wrote my own software to handle pools and what not the rest is quick head maths. That means if I spend my weekend taking bets and get 2K in bets I only make out with 100 for myself.

You can see how a friend booky is actually just taking a side gig to manage bets not exploit you into betting more.
Will I provide beers to get you to take more of the quick maths bets that I actually make a good margin on? Yes.

Bro you don't have to bet, I just like doing math while watching sports and dudes like to bet.
I am all about cutting people off. Yeah I realize that it still seems scummy but I am just brokering bets people already want to make. I just make money insuring you can make it and be paid.

The apps and big books are parasites.

if you are an addict I and any friend group booky will cut you off or make you bet pocket change. addicts are bad for business.
you can see it in peoples eyes when they ask to place a bet. you just say "no".
i am no more exploitative than a sports bar using the game as a way to sale more appetizers.

the same asshole who keeps talking about his book.
Yes you can make money on sports betting, bigger books pay out 90% of what comes in. however most payouts go to very smart players. if you treat it like a job you can make some money, if you play for fun than you will lose a bit at a time. if you just bet your team and don't do any math than you are just paying off everyone else's payouts.

Surely there are people trying to solve gambling through AI as we speak. If they ever figure it out, then we will have a brief moment where the AI players win big and the gambling businesses will soon catch on.

Assuming they want to stay in business, they would have to adjust their odds and payouts to compensate for predictive AI. I don’t think the AI will be able to be perfectly accurate, but what we now know as gambling will probably not be the same. Some forms of gambling will die out and other forms will survive.

OP, one of the best cures to gambling addictions is a job with randomized rewards, for example tipped jobs like server or bartender, or car salesman.

The thrill of winning a bet is just like the thrill of closing a car deal. In both cases you make a nice profit. Randomized rewards is key.

I think food delivery gigs could do this for you too since the payouts differ and it's gamified.

This is going to sound crazy but I used to pretend to be an egirl online (I'm a dude) and I'd get that exact same rush whenever a simp would send me $100 or so lol

Do not gamble. The house always wins. Quit gambling and focus on working a job or side gig. Bonus points if it includes randomized rewards.
