Dating with bipolar? Here’s how to keep it chill and real:

1. **Know yourself first:** Understand your triggers and what helps you stay stable.
2. **Timing matters:** Don’t rush into sharing your diagnosis. Build some trust first.
3. **Be honest but brief:** When you do tell, keep it simple—“I manage bipolar and it’s part of my life.”
4. **Show your good side:** Focus on what makes you awesome, not just your diagnosis.
5. **Find understanding people:** Try dating in circles or apps where mental health is accepted.
6. **Take it slow:** Let the relationship grow naturally.
7. **Keep care in check:** Staying on meds and therapy helps you feel your best, which makes dating easier.

You got this. Being upfront and confident can actually attract the right people.

Walk up to a girl who is open to talking to you and say: "Hi, how are you?"

Just tell them you're bipolar and tell them what that means, you inform them that every few weeks (or months if you're type 1), that you will get depressive and irritable as fuck maybe even sometimes paranoid. Then afterwards you will be manic and overly energetic or enthusiastic and a bit impulsive.

Tell them it's a mood regulation disorder, it's not something you can control but that you are self aware + open to treating it with meds and/or therapy.

It's honestly not that big of a deal breaker if you find someone who is secure and mature. I've known plenty of bipolar, decent people. Whenever they lashed out at me in anger or got distant or paranoid, I knew it was their mood cycle and just played it patient and kept supporting. It's not that hard
