My girlfriend's graduation from college is next week, but she's asking all of her family and acquaintances that decide to accompany her that day that they HAVE to go well dressed, suited, but I don't have a suit, so she doesn't want me there otherwise.

I'm currently debating if I should buy a suit just for this? It honestly seems to me like a bit much to go buy a suit for an event that won't last more than an hour (Before you ask, no, there are no rental suit stores in my city). Also I do feel a bit insulted that she doesn't want me with her that day just because I don't have a suit to attend with.

She still invited me for dinner after her event, but it feels to me like a pity invitation more than anything. It may be childish and just may anger talking (I had a rough day today so I held up from responding to her invitation given the emotional turmoil I'm going through right now) but right now I don't want to see her that day at all if this is how she's gonna treat me. Does this way of thinking makes me a bad boyfriend?

My sister's graduation dress cist her like 300 euros, and she was in the old country, my whole attire was 25 euros...
True beauty lies in the heart, if the heart years for lavishness instead of true beauty, it is rotten.
A suit is a small thing, but principles are much more. If you've never worn nice things, don't mask yourself, stay true to yourself

Honestly man, at some point in your life you’re going to have to own a suit in all likelihood. Unless you think you can get by without one. I’d buy it.

This.
Nut the fuck up and hack out 150$ for a nice suit or get lost you loser.
Fucking hell, she'll be fine with a 40$ thriftshit.
If you can't manage that you need to go back to playing with legos.

Whatever your country's equivalent of Walmart (cheap goods sold cheaply) is, will have a passable suit for less than a pair of designer jeans or sneakers

A suit can change a man. Make a champion out of a shmuck. Does things. It's worth trying, once or twice in your life. That said, my wife and I got married in t shirts and jeans. We've been together almost 20 years. Focusing too hard on the superficial isn't great, but be wary about throwing away a good thing just because she wants to impress her family. Maybe she wants to show you off and hasn't had the chance? My wife isn't so shy and was able to tell me so, maybe your lady can't find the strength or words. Give it a shot, might mean a lot in the end.

GF situation is totally irrelevant. Why don't you have a suit just to own a suit for things you need a suit for? Grow the fuck up piss baby
