I'm trying to doomscroll less and actually do a productive hobby, but I'm in the process of finding one for me. Rather something inexpensive. I tried drawing, but after a month of trying to force myself into it I've come to the realization that I don't like it.
What did you do to find your current hobbies?
i started animating in blender after playing Koikatsu for the first time and messing around with the "chara studio" that comes packed with it. chara studio is a glorified editor that allows you to pose 3D anime girl models, or a more or less polished MikuMiku Dance. it made me realize that i like computer animation.
went from barely knowing how to use blender and looking up tutorials every 10 minutes to making my own surprisingly polished and attention to detailed smut.
the first easiest suggestion would just be to plug in earbuds if you like music and go out on a walk — just force yourself to go out one day even if your brain is saying it doesn't want to, because you might thank yourself after the walk
otherwise, retry drawing? maybe you weren't drawing the things you want to draw. artists can draw literally anything, so just explore more. reading: old novels, novels that have been adapted into movies, mangas, webtoons
try new games: .io games on the internet (skribbl. io, slither. io, there are many), roblox if you're into that, mobile games from the app store
watch videos and get inspired to learn at least one tune on some instrument and go from there...
Hobbies come from you being passionate about something. Just whatever shit you find fulfilling. Doesn’t have to be normal. There’s a guy who collects condiment packets. He’s got a website with the history of different types.
