I'm studying CS, and I don't know if a CS career is a good idea for me, but I don't know what else I could do.
Every job advertisement I see requires some years of experience (which I do not have), so I have to wait to at least be a graduate. I'm worried that I'm spending too much time in a field I do not care about, and I feel stuck.
First 20s years old.

I'm getting into it and I'm not even passionate about it. The money is the motivator and its going well so far. I recommend getting security+, network+, and certs on HTB academy. You can learn all that yourself as long as you have time and doing those things you diversify yourself its a big field so there has to be something you'll like in CS. I picked this field because there's so many different things to specialize in and I wouldn't be feeling stuck.

How did you begin to work? Because every time I see that they search for someone with experience and/or a graduate, something that I don't have and am not.
I am European and studying at a university. I'm sorry I didn't specify.

I'm not in the field cuz I make more right now than if i took an entry CS role but my plan is to get in once I finish the network+. If you do the 3 things I said, it's more than what other people have. I don't know if you're in a big tech city but where i'm from, it's very easy to find an entry role.

My brother went the route of getting A+ to get an entry role too and it worked out. Once he got in he started going back to college.

I won't read yet another unsure about doing CS thread. Hey, fuckwit, if you're not passionate about it then don't. Simple.

Unfortunately, it isn't that easy to find something in my town. Thanks for letting me know about HTB Academy.
I guess what I was searching for was some kind of assurance that living and working in this field wasn't so bad, even if I wasn't that passionate.
Thanks for your time man, I appreciate it.

Nah dude dont listen to the retards saying "oh dont go in the field you wont find a job" They're people who didn't do anything else besides attend class and pass. Who would have guessed doing the bare minimum wouldn't get you a job. The future is very bright imo especially in Texas
