is anyone else mentally disabled but also forced to work? if so, how do you manage it? my main issue is that my illness makes it so I have no motivation at all, no will to do anything, even the things I used to enjoy or easy tasks, and I've no idea how I'm going to force myself to do difficult things that I hate doing
tried therapy and meds to gain some motivation back but none of it worked so far

The differences matter

why does this whole board magically think you need motivation to do things and it's impossible without it?

i never ever heard anything but "you gotta do what you gotta do" growing up. was there some big zoomer thing that convinced all of you you need motivation before you do anything?

you see it constantly from the howie threads to i can't study threads to i can't get a job threads, etc

Yeah, that happened neoboomer, where it became a thing to let kids not do whatever they wished not to do. Maybe it is a worn out trope but still very misunderstood. Everyone got a trophy.

idk about this board but you do need some level of motivation to do things, but it's not a concern to people who don't have a defective brain, they naturally can do things they have to do even if they don't *want* it
