I graduated from college 6 months ago and I am struggling to find a full time job. I majored in IT but a lot of my coursework was in software development and I had an internship a few years ago from that, along with helpdesk/support experience. I've been trying to apply to IT and SWE jobs and even Data Analyst/Consulting jobs (though the latter I feel like its pointless because I don't have much relevant experience in that) but while I get phone screens and a couple of interviews, its been hopeless. People around me say its normal and I think I'm doing everything right but I feel like a failure and don't know what else to do. I've tried cold networking and have failed at that as well.
Has anyone ever been in this situation and managed to get out? Not just in this field, but in general with post grad. I guess how did you find your first entry level job out of college? Should I kill myself? I feel like I don't deserve to be alive or have a life.

Honestly your education in that field is worth $0 and people with masters degrees can't get jobs, so ...
What you can do is leverage side interests. So your uncle's an expert at diesel engine repair, MAYBE you can leverage that into getting a job doing IT shit at a truck stop because you already have so much knowledge about the industry.

I won't read threads with such an unpromising start. Nothing can be done.
