I want to start a new hobby. But I want to livestream it so I can make friends and force myself to follow a schedule. But I don't know whether I should stream digital or traditional art. What are the pros and cons of either?

Digital is way less messy and easier to stream
Traditional is easier to pull off
I’d say go for digital

would you say the skills from digital art would carry over to traditional?

Yeah art fundamentals are all the same across multiple different media (only the technique changes) :3c
It’s a really awesome hobby, I wish you best of luck. Check out /ic/ for art gainz

Start with digital. It's WAY cheaper. And Krita is free.

Just got to /ic/ for stickied books and tutorials. Do NOT interact with /ic/. You know how this place has a crab bucket mentality? That's really not a good thing on a board that's supposed to be devoted to helping you improve a skill.

you can draw anything with a mechanical pencil and a sheet of printer paper. start drawing right now with whatever you have instead of buying a bunch of equipment for something you might not even like

Visual composition is something that carries over between many disciples.
Traditional is said to help train hand coordination because there's less crutches.

If you find yourself relying on ctrl+z, you might like to use traditional to give incentive to do things better on the first attempt.
