we're in an education bubble
you'll either need a top 1% quality degree or an existing network(cronies, nepotism, etc.) for getting hired afterwards.

I figured out the networking part and it makes my degree feel so fake it almost makes me sick.

I find those that look for satisfaction in the physical world are often left wanting

Mechanical engineer, dear God no it won't make you happy. Why do you think I'm shitposting when I should be working? It does let me afford the things that do make me happy though, taking care of my farm, garden, and family.

That's what I want too. Thanks for the motivation.

In the old days we produced about twice as many engineers as there were jobs for them, thats OK, use the degree as an IQ test proxy to get a learn2code job.
Those jobs are gone, even the CS grads can't get jobs.
So... the majority of BSEE grads will never get a job in the field doing EE shit, but they will get the student loan bill, LOL.
And your plan is to join that shitshow to "be happy"?
On the other hand, historically all the civeng got civeng jobs and were as happy as civeng can be, which isn't much but it beats living under a bridge or working at McDonalds after graduation like a BSCS or BSEE.
