Hey anons, I'm 22 currently living with my parents and I want to move out hopefully by next year having 25-30k saved up. I acknowledge I could save up a lot more if I stay longer be to be truthful, my house is an absolute shithole. Cats pissing everywhere, house is falling apart etc. As of now I'm stuck between looking at an apartment or getting a trailer home. The pros for each is
Apartment
>Less expensive upfront cost
>Would be able to do sooner
Trailer
>Would actually own the property and wouldn't ever need to worry about getting kicked out for no reason
>Less chance of noisy neighbors

Owning is almost always better, but you have to be financially stable enough to do random shit like putting on a new roof or replacing your entire heating and cooling system. It's ironically cheaper to pay a mortgage than rent if your credit is good, and with your savings you'd have a huge leg up, and owning returns your invesrment whereas renting is mo ey gone forever. I would not feel ashamed of a trailer, especially if it came with land. Apartment life is shitty. Now that I have a house I don't think I could ever deal with apartment/roommate nonsense again.

If you are buying a trailer, make sure you are also buying the land that it’s resting on. Otherwise, you’re just renting.
