My little sister (15) has a bad habit of getting boyfriends online, normally they are much older than her. Our dad won't do anything about it. I've tried telling her to stop, but she won't. There's probably other aspects in her life making her feel unable to make "normal" connections with males in her irl life. You should talk to her one on one to figure out what's bothering her, and if you don't want to get too personal you could try being more present in her life as a guiding but ultimately understanding figure. Don't try to berate her cause that's probably going to make her feel worse/lash out. Other than that, you could suggest ways of reducing the odds of her getting hurt, like video calling them before she meets them, talking her out appealing to the fact that it could end up bad for her partners cause she's a minor, driving her to dates and picking her up. The key thing being: try to be nice and understanding for your sister. It's not as simple as just telling her to stop doing x, she probably has a strong motivator in her head to keep looking for male company even if it puts her at a risk. She's very young and impressionable and older guys do take adventage of that providing a false sense of security she might be lacking elsewhere. But it's nice she has someone who worries about her, so don't leave her alone!

You're a good brother, anon. I don't think your worries are unwarranted and any anons trying to dissuade you are either fooling themselves, or trying to justify shit. Unfortunately, I think many girls at this age don't realize how bad it is (and honestly, some guys too) because their brains aren't fully developed yet. It doesn't really 'click' until they are older. Telling her to stop might make her feel more rebellious, or unfortunately, she may have already gone too far and done things, so she feels confident in navigating herself through it, though its false confidence. I'm not really sure what advice to give, but just know you're doing the right thing to try to protect her. She may not always see it/want it, but you are a good brother.
