Got bed bugs in my bed, found a few after checking because I had bites
None of the other beds in the house are affected
I'm normally extremely clean and careful with hygiene
Already dismembered the bed, steam cleaned and alcohol cleaned all of it, including my room
About to call a disinsection firm
Anything else I can realistically do aside from burning the whole house down?

>get your sheets and covers and put them in the dryer on high settings to kill the eggs
>hire an exterminator
>if you travel often, get rid of the clothes and suitcases you traveled with.
>hell, get rid of the mattress if you can

>disinsection
Thanks for a new word! LOL. If the firm does the house-gassing trick, where you have to go away for a couple of days, then that should get rid of the bugs.

When I got bed bugs, the property manager hired some guy to spray a bottle of $40 chemicals (crossfire) and charged them like $500. No fucking clue if it did anything, but I treated my clothes and covered my bed. Haven't noticed anything since.

Wash all bedding at 60°C. When you take it off the bed, take it off really gently - don't flip it - put it in a plastic bag and seal it until it's ready to go in the washing machine. If you need to take something out of the bedroom that can't immediately be washed at 60°C then put it in the freezer for 72 hours.

The other thing that's really useful is food-grade diatomaceous earth. Sprinkle liberally all round the edges of the room, all round the bed (especially the feet) and under the mattress. (Diatomaceous earth is safe to eat, but can irritate the lungs if you inhale it, so use a mask while sprinkling). The idea is to make sure that any bug which comes to feed on you has to walk through it to get to you.

They do also make bug-proof mattress covers - zip the mattress inside for a year or two, and any bugs inside the mattress will eventually die off, and no new ones can hide in there.

>I'm normally extremely clean and careful with hygiene
Bed bugs have literally nothing to do with poor hygiene. Get that idea out of your head.

This wouldn't have happened if you had someone to wish you a good night, sleep tight and don't let the bedbugs bite.

Get any spray with permethrin, it does a good job at killing insects of all kinds, even if the bottle only says it's for fleas or whatever, you can spray it on yourself too as it won't hurt you, just don't inhale it too much or you will get a headache.
The best part is that the permethrin will be your go to for any other insect related problem too.

Having a metal bed frame made it hard for them to get up. And i moved the bed away from the wall so they cant climb there. make sure blanket doesn't touch ground. Zipped my bed with the bag you can buy for bedbuggs. There is poison you can buy and spray the corners or wherever

Diatomaceous Powder
Its like a fine talc like powder, it feels smooth to us but its like walking on glass to them.
I took the slats off my bed and put the powder in all the gaps and refit the slats, i'd put money on it that you will find clusters of them where the slats and the bedframe meet. its messy but it keeps them at bay especially when used together with a good bedbug spray.
