How do I stop obsessing over my height? I have a GF, a good job and I make decent money, yet I can't stop comparing my height to other men around me. I'm around 5'5" and I don't know if it's just my OCD acting up in this regard or too much time spent on /r9k/ but this is a hurdle I have to get over because I can't change it, but I struggle with it hard. It makes me depressed.

I understand it's something I can't control. I'm going to college for engineering, paid for by my company, I have a GF, I have savings, etc. So life is pretty good right now, but I find it hard to shake that insecurity.

Reframe your belief about height as a value that other women have. They don't actually prefer height, height is an indicator of some other quality that you can control. For example, it might represent the ability to earn or produce resources, or it might represent assertiveness, or your ability to win a fight, or your likelihood of protecting yourself and her if another man threatens you.
Take care of these and potentially find ways to express them to her so she knows you have these qualities.
Height gets men the first glance, but if he's actually faking it and doesn't have the qualities women actually care about, he won't have a shot anyway.
When I'm looking to meet women who might think they prefer tall men, I wear chelseas. Not to deceive, but to give them a chance to see that I have the qualities that actually matter to them.

It either stays the same or gets worse. You have to be fine with background insecurity

Guys care about women's personalities but the naturally good looking woman is actually easier on the eyes.
Yes, we care about height. 6 feet might be cosmetic and most women accept less but that doesnt make height any less of a factor

I curse /r9k/ for making me aware of this during my teenage years, what a shithole board, dude.

In work I'm just reminded of it in my head because my mentor and other coworkers are taller than me.

You actually don't care about height. If that was true, you'd fuck the 6 foot simp and not the 5'8 bad boy.

You must have other things to worry about. Like, you are being mentored, take something else seriously

I actually lived my whole life never noticing other people's height or even hearing about women disliking short guys, until I visited this shithole board when I was 21, which made me realize my best friend at the time was so short that every single incel chud would say that it's completely over for him and he should an hero. (He was 152cm or smthn like that)
Guess what? I'm 184cm and he still had a way better social life than me.

What do you mean by this? I do take my job seriously, but I also have this deep-rooted insecurity, fueled by /r9k/ in my teenage years, that I cannot shake even now at nearly 30.

OP, most police officers are shorter than me as a 6'4". Now tell me, just how dumb is it for me to not be intimated by a cop who can trip me over silly, pressing me on the ground with a martial art wrestle manuever; it's pretty damn dumb. Height is not a sign of weakness, and in fact the shorter you are to the ground the easier it is for you to build muscle to lift heavy things. It is a myth to assume a tall guy is always stronger, and in fact what is more common, is being tall and lanky, not tall and strong.
