How do I fix this? I have an average 10 hour screen time usage in my phone. I wanna stop but browsing 4chan and youtube is the only thing that brings me joy. I also don't know what to do when I'm not on my phone

Charge your phone in a room you don't sleep in and dont touch it in the morning.
Its way easier than you realize, and the jitters will go away in like 2-3 days.
Youre addicted. When you realize you aren't *actuall* doing anything on your phone thats *actually* important, that MUST be done now.. once you tell yourself that so you can put up a resistance and realizing "just checking your email" or anything is going to contribute, it gets easier to just tell yourself no for like a day or two.

Even if you go the first 2-3 hours of your day with no screen time, the ripple effect would be huge. You just gotta realize your brain has a will of its own seperate from what you know (this is called cognitive dissonance) and you gotta treat that part of your brain like the screaming toddler it is and say no and be firm.

Do you comprehend the grimness of such statement?

Had a friend who said shit like this about Instagram reels.
Did not understand that that wasn't because its more fun than anything else, its because her dopaminergic system was *that* fried.

If you're OP remember that also lies within you the power to un-fry your dopaminergic system. What do you get, on a fundamental level, from browsing 4chan and YouTube +10 hours a day? Are you lonely, paranoid and anxious? Are you trying to shut off certain thoughts that'll often pop up in your head? If so, do they make you feel guilt? Then that can be one (of many) reasons for your overindulgence in technology. Start by honing your awareness and introspection (in a objective way, don't let it devolve into rumination).

>demonstrates understanding of *put the phone down*
Im not OP, and I dont think hes got that kind of self awareness.

Im a bit older but someone with an "addictive personality", Im prone to these things (but well in control).
But it blows my mind to see posts like OP "I keep using this how do I stop" you fucking stop thats the answer. Charge it in a different room, put it down, sit and stare at a wall for hours, distract, go outside, find new hobbies, anything. But dont just keep devouring it while crying "I literally dont know what's happening"

I did this for 2 days but I needed to use my computer for class and I fell again

I can stop using my phone, the problem is that I don't know what to do with the free time.
I'm literally staring at a wall waiting for the time to pass. I have no friends, family or hobbies, so it's pretty boring when I drop my phone

I only browse based boards though and I feel like all of you guys are my frens

I bought a book, and I can watch a movie but isn't that the same? It's more dopamine to my brain
