So, I'm 26 right now, I graduated from a career which I feel very dissatisfied (Journalism). Two years ago I got really into Linux and I would like to make it into cybersecurity (not in a script kiddie way). I don't have the money to go to college and I don't know If it would be a waste of time for what I want to do, considering the impact of AI. What would you do?

A worthy, necessary and not too hard sub-goal would be to be able to pass a technical interview on the Linux command line.

Cybersecrity very rarely has completely entry level positions, and most places are going to want you to already have experience in some other it position, dev or sysadmin or it support. Check job listongs in your area to see if it's the case/what else is required.

You should do cybersecurity as a hobby for a bit and see if thats what you really want.
Do some ctfs and HTB and participate in the community. It is very hard to get a job without knowing people, even more than other areas

This. You can find internship positions or positions with 10 years experience and pretty much nothing in between.
