My dad just fucked everything up. Threatened to kill my mom, destroyed his prized hobby stuff in the middle of a pointless argument.

We have a family vacation planned for July just for old times sake. We'd been doing so well. He had serious anger issues in the past and i thought he was doing so well and had improved. But today was the worst meltdown he's ever had, and the closest he's gotten to laying a hand on her. I'm at a loss

I know my dad and i know he won't apologize, he'll just wait for everyone to forget and move on. But he went a little too far this time. I don't think anyone's going to forget or move on.

Don't even know what i want to hear. Anyone else been in this situation? How do I manage the appearances i have to make around him? Do i back out of the vacation? Should i confront him?
