>been suicidal most of my life
>/gen though it was the autism
>still unsure if it is or not
>started to see a therapist since May
>been thinking of opening up
>I can’t, freeze every single time

So… man what do I do??? I really want to open up since I can’t seem to get better and it’s kinda ruining me, but I’m too afraid she’ll call my mom up and tell her I’m suicidal or that I s/h
If anyone knows or has tips pls let me know bro

Your therapist isn't keeping your secrets. Pay for a better one

Assuming you're at least 18 it is actually illegal for your therapist to tell your mother anything unless you say it's okay. Your therapist could be struck off for doing that.

Therapists are bound by both ethics and laws to keep your medical information private. Think of it this way - if your therapist did call your mom and tell her information about your sessions without your permission then you won't have to worry about your mom because you'll win enough money in the lawsuit to set yourself up for life.

Do you have any idea how much it would cost to bring that case? If poor people could afford to hold anyone accountable to the law, the world would be very different

Never tell your therapist you are CURRENTLY feeling suicidal. You can tell them you were - past tense - but never say you are. They'll throw you in the nuthouse. Be very careful.

Thanks anon! I’ll see her this Thursday and I’ll hopefully be able to open up a bit more,,, will also take this in consideration because I don’t want to downplay my issues too much with her but also don’t want to spend the rest of my winter break in the nuthouse lmao,,

dear god anon dont do anything too retarded you are in a vulnerable position
alternatively wear a sugar pill on a necklace. tell the therapist its cyanide and you will not be captured. it is now on her hands

This is bullshit. The only way someone will get detained is if they pose an imminent threat to themselves or someone else. If you go in and say "I'm planning to take an overdose on Tuesday and I've already bought the pills" then they may well lock you up. But just for having suicidal thoughts, no: no risk at all.
