In short, my life is a failure but it doesn't really bother me as much as the fact that I disappointed my parents, they were good to me and I'm sad that I failed them, my only cope is reminding myself that my older brother is highly successful so maybe they don't care as much as I think.
Anyway how do I cope with these intrusive thoughts?

THEY, and not you, are the authorities on whether you disappoint them. I'm a successful businessman and my brother is a low-paid schoolteacher, and I listen all the time to their delight in tales of his small successes with students.
