really gross health problem here: most of my shits lately have been really tiny (like, extremely tiny, compared to the amount of food that i've been eating), and it's taking more effort than normal to get them out. what's wrong with me?

You're dehydrated. Also stop straining. You'll get hemorrhoids. Get a fiber supplement and drink more water.

I drink plenty of water, though. There's no way that's the problem.

Alright then. Be more thorough in the problem description. I'm not a doctor and you should probably see one if you're seriously concerned. But I can take a shot at it.
Describe the shape. Is it round? What's your diet been like? How long has the problem been occuring? Have you noticed any abdominal pain?

I eat lots of bread and occasionally baked beans.

>Is it round?
More or less.
>What's your diet been like?
I'm not gonna lie to you, I do eat junk food. But I was eating junk food LONG before this started happening, so I'm 99% sure that's not the cause. I also eat homemade meals with lots of different ingredients.
>How long has the problem been occuring?
Two or three weeks, maybe. But it's not constant. I've had a few normal shits in that time.
>Have you noticed any abdominal pain?
Nope.
Going to a doctor isn't really an option, because of the terrible healthcare system in my country. If I called them now, they probably wouldn't be able to see me until early August.

That's why. Get some metamucil and drink more water.

processed fiber doesn't count

you need lentils and broccoli and spinach and oats etc

No. It's for people who like to take good shits and lack fiber. Which is you.

OP here. Just tried eating some broccoli and drinking a fuckload of water. I guess it helped a little bit, but not too much. It wasn't quite round, and it was a bit watery.

For fucks sake just drink the metamucil. They sell fiber in pills too. I promise you, you'll never have a better shit.

I ignored this problem for years and now my anus is tattered at 30. I shit myself semi-regularly. It literally looks like a punched mouth.
Improve your diet, and if no difference see a GP asap

Constipation. Clean up your diet.
For the next meal eat the following:
Stirfry veggies
Diced chicken breast
2 cups white rice
some type of asian spicy sauce
and down it all with 2 glasses of green tea with honey
Drink a glass of water every half hour after that, and occasionally find a spot to finger-widths below your belly button that will feel slightly tender when putting pressure on it. This is a pressure point that influences your colon movement. Just rub circles in it for a few minutes and leave it alone.
Within 4 hours you will take a shit so good you will reach enlightenment.

>most of my shits lately have been really tiny
Its not really a problem. Its a Jewish fetish to take huge poops probably to stretch things out back there for the inevitable anal they also coincidentally have a huge fetish for.
Mystified how its hard to push out something small.
If you're eating lower residue food or less indigestible fiber its not much of a problem except to people who have a poop fetish.
If you have a poop fetish and want to poop more then by all means explode your fiber intake and you'll be launching giant torpedos in a day or two.

Not OP but chicken always gives me thin little shits compared to when I eat beef. Might have something to do with the connective tissue and such but if I eat a big steak or plate of stir-fried beef with a side of veg I'll take shits almost as good as when I'm regularly taking fiber.

What's the problem? A dense, dry, bricked up loaf that requires the least amount of wiping is what you should be aiming for.
