I got children of my own and I'm happily married, but if one day shit goes sour and my wife and I divorce, I honestly can't see myself dating again, let alone women with other kids.

Kids are complicated. Very cute, funny and rewarding to take care of, but complicated.

Here is the issue 90% of single moms have kids who act fatherless. If dating you means having to make up years of poor parenting than its a no, particularly as any parenting I can do will be received poorly.
If the kid is being raised right than it's a none issues. Like a good kid could even be an upside for a few dates, IDK about marriage and actually being a step dad.

but also most good dad material guys will as soon as it's welcome split his attention between you and your kid. Be ready to lose a date night so that I can play Pokemon cards with your kid because that is what a father figure does.

Originally I would've said no, but the dating pool is getting smaller by the year for me and it's no longer an outright dealbreaker. Huge black mark though not because of personal feelings towards the woman but out of simple logistics. Raising a child that isn't mine comes with problems such as attempting to discipline them or see them with the same value as a child that is mine and a lot of single mothers don't want to have additional children since they're already "done."

It's another challenge on top of dating childless people that I'd rather avoid unless there were enough upsides to outweigh it.

I would be ashamed, it's very very odd, on religious basis too. And I want love, not a management of a relationship. If she really loved him, why did they break ? If she loved him but the break, it means she slept too lightly and didn't know him well. It manifest something about her and her relationship, as well as it makes a possible relationship impossible.
