>get a job
>been working there for half a year now, it's going good, been pretty happy during most of that time and a couple of weeks ago boss told me I have been doing very good and gave me a nice raise
>they hire a new guy last week
>I have been feeling like shit since then because he's 3 years younger than me and has more qualifications and experience and graduated with a higher gpa
What advice do you have for this kind of situation? I feel horrible and want to kms.

Comparing yourself to others is pointless as everyone goes through life with different circumstances. Some have rich families and can coast through a good college early especially with the right tutoring, others literally have no real hobbies and focus solely on school/career. Instead, you can use this feeling to compare yourself to your past and use it to improve for your future.

Unless you have some evidence he's paid more than you or is going to leapfrog you to a promotion, what the hell are you crying about? You are the senior employee. you have the raise. Logic calls for HIM to be envious of YOU.

Like I said, he has more work experience so he is more likely being paid a bit more than me. I forgot to specify but this is my FIRST job so I am not a senior employee at all. And if he is younger and has more experience, qualifications and did better in uni that's a good indication he's is smarter and more skillful than me which means I am fucked.

Even if I improve someone who is smarter will improve tenfold in the same time.

Who cares?
There's always someone better
You're just jealous and feel inferior about not being the best at something, a feeling that you should have gotten over by the age of 10
Stop projecting outwardly things you feel about yourself, as long as you're trying your hardest it doesn't matter whose better

Of course it does, no one is gonna want to pay someone who is worse when someone else does a better job. Employers don't care about bullshit like trying your hardest, they care about results.

Because better people win and I will be a loser and made redundant.

So what happened before he was hired then?
Were you the best worker there? Did they fire ALL the ones who weren't as good as you?
You're letting your insecurities run wild and think unrealistic things, no company has a workplace where every employee is 100% the best, there necessarily has to be slackers and the people who are the worst
If you think because someone is better than you, you'll get fired you're a moron, odds are you're just jealous since you used to be complimented

Are you a woman or gay?
You come across very faggy bpd extremes type of vibe

Just because you can't be the best doesn't mean trying can't be fulfilling.

You think OP's problem is that he cares too much. In reality his problem is that he didnt care enough as a kid and ended up neeting. Many such cases for people under 30 rn.
