I used to have a moderately decent following online, mostly just shitposting. But this style of posting ended up grabbing me a lot of detractors (albeit in a niche). Further, I'm being accused of things I didn't do, and the person with my doxx is threatening to contact "authorities" and report me.
They have my full name and a blurry picture of me, but nothing else. When I went dark I made sure to wipe every trace of myself on the net, which seems to have worked because an insider told me that the main doxxer (in some groupchat they are in) was frustrated that they could not find more info on me.
The method for my doxx seems to be via a previous employer, apparently they contacted a person at my previous employer and bribed them for my info. I've since had this employer remove any record of me and the person who did it was fired
I've taken care to make sure I've removed every link to me, but a question I have is how should I play this. If my doxx got posted online, should I say something, or just let it pass. I contacted a lawyer who has some experience with this and he told me the best move is to just not say anything and ignore it, eventually they'll give up when I don't give them the attention they crave.
Thoughts on what I should do here?
