where do i even begin to make my life less bad without anyone's help
each time i reached out to someone for help i ended up committing to way more than i could handle and it never ended well (at best i improved at one area of my life but let all the others get worse, at worst i ended up failing at everything), so this time i'd like to do it mostly by myself

Start with the basics like eating healthy, grooming yourself daily, normal sleep pattern and exercise. Then you can start reading self help books and see if you can find something that fits your specific issues. If you feel too shit you can try supplements, some react pretty well. You just have to find out which helps by trying them.

You already cracked the case bud, there's a reason why every single person that wants to improve their life starts working harder at their job, working out, and quitting porn. It sucks because it isn't easy but it genuinely is your only option

im 25 too and basically still a neet but working some odd jobs and my own project is going alright.

i became /fit/ over the last 2 years. the beginning was tough but i started to enjoy lifting, progressively overloading weight and having a routine. i am now in the best shape of my life and it feels amazing.

i was also a porn addict and khv up until earlier this year. due to my neetdom i was also depressed and socially retarded. what has helped me the most is mindfulness and meditation, despite being โ€˜antiโ€™ thinking it would never work for me. also read a few self improvement and philosophy books which i always tossed after a few pages in the past.

i now have a gf and feel so much more free. if you told me this a year ago i would have laughed in your face. setting small goals was key for me and gradually increasing them and growing as a person.

>Start with the basics
should i do all of them at once or tackle them one by one?
>self help books
do you have any recommendations? either generic books or ones that help with getting stuff done in general
>supplements
already tried, those who worked only worked for 3 weeks before i returned to my default state
it was amazing to be a human being again for these 3 weeks though

I would start with losing weight, read r/loseit wiki, it's pretty simple (i know it's reddit blaba). Then add some exercise, be it walking, start smaller than you think if you never did it before. Once you got that figured out and you are steadily dropping weight, try to figure out the next step. Whats important to you? Perhaps it would be finding a job as that provides important structure to your day.

Also buy 50uq vit D alongside a multivitamin and start taking it every day. This can be done right now, or tomorrow if it's too late.

One step at the time will feel slower but it will make sticking to it easier than doing everything at once.

depends how hard it is for you. Like the if changing sleep pattern is hard, then wait it out. If you cant do the exercise, then do something else and try later. Doing too much can overwhelm you and demotivate you in the end. You need to enjoy it at bit at least.
>do you have any recommendations? either generic books or ones that help with getting stuff done in general
Try read some of the well known generic ones, see what fits you. There's a lot, and most are the same, just the style and delivery is different. Try audiobooks if you don't want to read, a lot of them are on youtube.

1200mg of n-acetylcysteine every morning but i don't know if it would work on other, mentally healthy people

So you have no idea what you want to be, no wonder you can't make progress, avolition is not fucking real it's because you have no idea what you want so you sit around a coom all day in your room as a fat ass and expect something to change

Nothing will change unless you look at yourself, set goals for yourself and strive to achieve those goals.
