I am wasting my 20s by sitting at home. I am a gym frequent, interested in drawing, music and vidya and all I want is to go out with other people my age and be retarded. Unfortunately I have not made any friends since I could not fit in, and as hard as I tried I would just leave the group because I would most of the time be surrounded by fake people. By this I don't want to come off as I pretend to be better than anyone or anything. I had to separate myself from people who would keep me away from improving myself and try to drag me down to their level so I can never be a better version of myself. I am starting university soon so I am very hopeful that I'll meet someone worthy of my time and very fun to spend time with that will also have similar interests. What can I do in order to make more friends before I go to uni? Bars are out of question because I don't like drinking. I'm already thinking of avoiding friends that appear once every few months that are only here to drink together.

Hope this thread does not come off as bawwing

In one segment of your life, it is what you truly desired in your heart.

People tend to gravite towards good people.

Not really, I always tried to keep my friend group alive and once it all fell apart there was nothing left. I was always the one bringing people out of my friend group to go and do shit but it decayed over time. Not because of my lack of interest in it but because everyone sort of lost touch and moved onto other friend groups.

>People tend to gravite towards good people.
right, because me sitting at home will make people come

nice meaningless advice you gave me

You just sound like someone who drags friends down. I get self-improvement, but everyone is going at their own pace. You should stop looking down on people and maybe you'll be able to keep and make new friends.

The thing is that I am too forgiving of people and it had to stop eventually because I was taken advantage of. No one really had my back ever despite always being helpful and genuinely caring. I admit that I am a bit of a sperg but by no means am I harmful towards anybody. Just not as charming as other people.

>Not really,
It was, else you would not have done it with what you are and what you had at your disposal.

Regret is an inevitable course from a better vantage which usually arrives with the passage of time. Regret is a sign of progress and that something superior is at hand compared to what had come before.

>right, because me sitting at home will make people come
You could be sitting at home if you continually desire and be bad, you see.

The first friend you have to make is with yourself.

Why not wait for Uni? If you are social and participate at the introductory events you will meet new people easily. And from my experience you'll meet many people at Uni who don't drink. It's more common in gen z.

If you study in the same city in that you're currently living join a sports club, football, volleyball, wahtever.

I won't read self-inflicted problems threads. OP knows the solution, so why is this dickhead even here!?

Gyms are great to make friends. I know and talk to 4 people on the regular that I've met.
