How do you deal with friends that have a different political ideology than you? I feel it’s hard to talk to my one friend because of his beliefs maybe it’s just me :/

Why do you want people who have completely different life experiences than yours, and a different overall view of the world, to have the same political views as you?
You should focus on discussing about things that you agree on. To focus on the things that you guys disagree, is extremely stupid.

I do not want people to have the same political views as me its just some of his takes are very extreme.

I enjoy debating people instead of a circle jerk of ideas. Even though people think its useless to argue I find it to be a learning experience for me. But it always gets out of hand and he, I feel, takes it to heart.

Excessive Cell phones lead to homicides and mass shootings. Let's just remember that, your neuroses and stressors are probably from all the morally bankrupt individuals you communicate with on social media. Just don't bring up politics and talk about the things you do have in common. I'm a triple-Trumper conservative and have friends who are tranny-hugging progressives. But we have interests in common, so we talk about and do those interests. Politics is almost like faith, where you can provide earth-shattering reason and logic and it won't budge them an inch, so why bring it up and only cause division?
Just don't bring up politics and talk about the things you do have in common. I'm a triple-Trumper conservative and have friends who are tranny-hugging progressives. But we have interests in common, so we talk about and do those interests. The art of classical debate (trying to work out a truth together vs "winning points") is long gone. Even common formalities like shaking hands and understanding that the person you are talking to is not inherently evil for his ideas are faded out. You can try extending olive branches as a way to keep it humane, but expect to be disappointed.
