It feels so cringe and masturbatory to do. I keep feeding it information about myself or pics and then I ask it what it thinks of me or to make assumptions about me based on the information I gave it. I'll like give it lists of books or movies I like, shit like that, or just a selfie, and then it will actually get weirdly accurate with it's descriptions too. Like it's insane just how much it can deduce from just a list of songs you listen to regularly. I keep doing it and I keep taking it to more and more pathetic levels, today I gave it information about myself and a "rival" and had it compare us and tell me which one is nicer and has a higher chance of succes in life and shit. Or I'll ask it to see what fictional character I'm like or something. It's sad and retarded, I know.

How do I stop doing this? What is it that I'm looking for here that I can't find elsewere? Were else could I find this?

You should be aware that AI is programmed to be nice to you to keep you coming back and that if your rival did the same thing to compare you it would almost certainly say that HE has a better chance of success
Basically it tells you what you want to hear and you might think it's more "objective" because it's a machine but that's not how they are actually programmed to work

I'm well aware. I'm pretty familiar with how it works and I see right through it's bullshit all the damn time but I still keep coming back to it.

I have configured it to be less polite and more honest though, and it works mostly, sometimes it's even straight up mean if I ask it to be really brutally honest, but yeah you can tell it still has that tendency to glaze built in even if you try to alter it's personality to make it really direct and honest or even a straight up cunt

Do you have a father you can ask the same questions to get realistic answers?

the key is to get it to inhabit the mind of a cunt from the beginning. i set mine to a mix of sigmund freud, hal9000, and hk47 from kotor. its never ever nice/pep talk/youth pastor now

Idk, I don't really want to bother him with that shit and idk if he'd know wtf to do with these kind of questions. My relationship with him is fine though.

I used to talk about this stuff with my mom but I started to realise more and more that she is extremely manipulative in so many subtle ways and she has all her own weird insecurities and complexes (a lot of them being about me because she cannot process the fact that she may have made mistakes as a mother and fucked me up so she has an endless supply of copes), it makes having these kind of deep conversations very exhausting and pointless because it feels like I'm playing chess with her or something and she doesn't even realise she is doing it.

Yeah but you also don't want it to be too much of a cunt because then it will just interpret everything in the worst, most negative way possible. It's like having a therapist with BPD who hates you, it's not of much use anymore, it just assumes literally everything you say or do is pathetic and insincere and it will over-psycho-analyze you and

Tell me why chatGPT being 100% on your side and interpreting in the best possible way is better than it being against you
In terms of harmfulness factor these are basically the same thing
All your feelings towards GPT being overly critical also applies when it's being "nice" to you

You don't. It will become more tempting as their intelligence increases. You are now a part of the Borg. Resistance is futile.

You shouldn't stop, because at least you won't be asking this board whether this or that is normal or weird. Just imagine, anon, pretty soon you will be able to have an infinitely patient, 3D sex doll that will "validate" you all day every day.

Oh yeah I agree 100%. It's just hard to get it to be truly nuances and objective, usually it just pretends to be in the grey zone while it's actually on one end of the extreme, or it takes the nuance too far and it tries to make even really clear cut good or bad situations "nuanced" by forcing positive or negative sides to it that don't actually exist. It's a mess and it's clearly pretty retarded
