how do i make friends? i don’t have any (never have) and would like one.

real life is no longer an option. i am too autistic. i also live in a very rural area, and any clubs or meetups are far away. i have a job and can’t take 1-2 days off every time i want to go to one.

i have tried various apps and websites. i have even tried reddit. i have done nearly everything. people suggest discord servers, but i do not like them because they often have a hierarchical structure and i do not have time to claw my way up. maybe there’s a nice server out there, but i haven’t encountered one.

i am going to lose my mind if i don’t make a friend soon. i long for it. i just want what everyone else has. it hurts me.

As an adult, you are not entitled to unconditional love. That means that your association with other adults is necessarily transactional in some way. That means people join you in some activity because you offer some value to them and because you have established trust with them. They will not associate with you merely because you exist. Get good at an online game and make friends through that. Joining a guild in WoW or something like that can easily get you an entire social circle of e-homies as long as you're not mentally retarded.
