There's still vital government jobs you can work for. Just don't do dumbass things, keep working on yourself, and you'll still be employable for them. Another thing too, is if you work on yourself well enough, your mental illness will not be an issue anymore. Your therapist will gladly write you off as functional to carry a gun, given of how you can function with your brain. You'll essentially be looked at as the equivalent of a guy who is able to use his foot like had there been an implant that gave full functionality, but it will be with your mental condition.

Merchant Marines. Not an actual military branch, I don't think they'd care or even screen for shit like that. There's programs that will send you to a pseudo bootcamp and get you credentialed and a job as an Ordinary Seaman on a vessel. Considering you'll be doing 6 months on 6 months off or some schedule like that, you'll actually make quite a bit of money if you can handle the lifestyle. You can go from Ordinary to Able Bodied, and then up to 3rd Mate all the way to captain no degree if you wanted. Same sorta thing if you wanna work below deck as in engineer.

Or you could just go steward and make food all day and have the crew love you as long as you're making good shit. Everyone gets paid pretty damn good to be honest.
