Every. Damn. Time. I see some fucked up autistic manchild, or a terminally depressed emasculated man, they always have old parents. Why? Why are old parents so catastrophically terrible at raising well-functioning adults? Why do their kids almost always end up as autistic, depressed, obese, manchildren losers incapable of dealing with real life? Is it all just poor semen quality? Or are there other reasons for it?

I think it's the other way round. Young parents have no experience and divorce more often than older parents, so it definitely affects children.

Old parents are usually out of touch or just don't care, Chris Chan emulated the old-fashioned mindset of his parents for example and all it did was set him back with his search for a boyfriend-free girl. Imagine a fat autist obsessed with Sonic the Hedgehog trying to use 1950s logic for getting a girl in the 2000s and you have an idea of how badly he was out of his league. Because those children don't have a choice in assisting, caretaking, or doing the responsibilities that able-bodied younger adults are capable of. Now tack on the process of aging and the mental n physical effects of that process on TOP of parenting/adulting (not to justify just here to explain)

Sprinkle in some generational trauma, some dysfunction, and a dash of bad decisions or resentment and badabing badaboom you got yourself a wreck of a human inable to articulate the complex trauma and suffering they must endure.

Do you have any idea how challenging it is to be told about unconditional love is to be expected from your family when you live in a home where love is based on conditional support? They're not autistic, they're traumatized.
