How is it that VPNs are blocked but it’s so easy for people to evade bans?

Why do you need one? To post from a country where 4chan is blocked? You can use a VPN if you have a 4chan gold account.

Then what the fuck is there to talk about? Every topic of discussion has the potential to veer into politics. If I make a thread about videogames on /int/ will I be banned for being off-topic? What about if I made a thread about sports? Currencies are much more related to international discussion than videogames or sports, yet I see the former all the time on /int/, while I get banned and told to go to /pol/ for the latter.
