Flush means expanded blood vessels, which usually causes low blood pressure not high blood pressure. Low blood pressure can cause fast heart rate. Sounds like some kind of allergy / histamine attack.

I have hypertension and blood pressure spikes can happen. Mainly its because I'm very sensitive to salt, so it happens if I eat fast food or restaurant food. But the symptoms are not what you're describing, it's more that I have chest discomfort as well as general discomfort, feel very sick, and have no energy. There may be some palpitations, but no difficulty breathing or flush blood vessels. What you're describing sounds more like an allergic reaction.

A lot of places like grocery stores, pharmacies or malls have automated blood pressure monitoring kiosks, so you can go to one of those and check your bp. You can also buy a cheap bp machine for your home if you want.
