if you are purely interested in effects of nicotine for productivity reasons, try 3mg snus or nicotine gum when studying.
Otherwise, don't bother. Do not vape or smoke cigarettes for obvious reasons, it's an expensive, bad habit.

Personally, I maintain a steady nicotine intake so that I have an arbitrary chemical addiction to leverage when I have no other internal motivation to do anything.
