Someone quit at another store. My district manager decided to implement a new rule. Mandatory coverage. Now when I signed up for this job I was under the impression I would work at one store. Now I find out i may have to work at this store once or twice a week. The commute would be at least an hour there likely longer than that cause of rush hour. I would be compensated but I really dont care. I really do not want to work at this store. What do I do? Id be working 9 and a half hours there most likely and then driving home.
>>33302518This. Don't quit your job before you have something else already lined up, but asking you to do a massive commute out of nowhere is a giant red flag. The ships sinking, you better find a life raft and quick.
>>33302539Honestly I'm thinking about quitting
>>33302630Definitely quit, just not until you have something else lined up first.
sort of related because i have a dogshit job (managing logistics at a hardwarestore + information + repairs, keys + fill in for other shit)
its way too much stuff at once for shit pay. but i have a gigantic hole in my resume because i did fuck all for 4 years. i legit have no ideas what the fuck to do.
>>33302874Honestly im thinking about quitting with nothing lined up
>>33302505 (OP)New job
"compensated" sounds nice, but really it's just more hours you didn't ask for, and the rate isn't going to be double or triple
fuck that
>>33303289Your new employer would view you in a better light if you don't quit. This is just the bullshit you have to go through in life
Have you spoken to your district manager and explained this is a hardship and not what you bargained for? That you could possibly do this short term if its really an emergency but you can't just work wherever whenever.
At least have that conversation before you quit.
>>33303489Ive already told her multiple times i dont want to work at this location
