How do I get through mind-rattling 40+ work weeks and still have the energy left for personal projects? I feel like a zombie halfway through the day it seems hopeless

adjacent question to OP because i don't wanna make a seperate thread!

is there a service one can sign up for that applies for jobs for you? i've been job hunting for 6 months with no luck but can barely sit through one, 45-minute digital application without wanting to tear my own head off.

my solve for this is that i refuse to work 5-days a week. i would smoke myself before i give 5/7th's of my life to a job. i wouldn't give 5/7th's of my life to a business i OWNED, much less for the sake of another fella's bottom line.

also, friendly reminder it used to be a 7-day work week until unions lobbied for weekends off. the bar has been lowered before and needs to be lowered again.

You could automatize it somehow, have you ever tried a bot for a mmo or online game? It's a good idea, looking for a job is dreadful

that would be awesome. i've heard it mentioned that many people do stuff like this now, and that that's part of why it's harder to get hired (more applicants per posting). maybe i should look into it. i've always wondered how one does that given how many variables there are for any given application.

Not OP, but that's not an invalid set of circumstances to grow up under. It's not his fault his parents were soft on him, or that he didn't plead with his parents to be harder on him so he'd learn discipline (pretty word for enduring tedium). He's only got the cards he was dealt and is just trying to make a hand out of 'em. I don't think there's anything wrong with admitting a 40-hour work week is dreadful. Peer shaming is a tool of the oppressor, to keep the common man from lobbying for better circumstances.

That doesn't sound like an easy job but I think mine may be more strenuous. At least you get to use your mind. I've taken your advice in stretches of my life and I tend to go in phases of sprinting and resting. Maybe chasing the high of significant "progress" is hindering me. I tend to be stubborn about working on a problem until I truly understand it so I tend to wait until I have several free hours. This ends up putting my creative endeavors against needs like working on my car or applying for jobs or making important phone calls . I'll see about trying to work in smaller chunks

Mike Rowe is just trying to promote some godless ethic creed that appeals to a secular society as part of his TV celebrity persona.
>Colossians 3:23 And whatsoever ye do, do it heartily, as to the Lord, and not unto men;

That verse is where the notion of "Protestant work ethic" comes from btw. And if you're not happy with your job and can't do your job as unto the Lord, then you should quit and find a new one which you can. And if you're a saved believer and you don't do this, you're not right with God and you're a bad testimony to the world for Christ's name.

Build habits. It requires a lot less energy when you're used to doing it every day. Getting started is the hardest part. After a few weeks it feels weirder not to do it.

And stop procrastinating - if I spend an hour just scrolling socials at work or in the morning then I have zero momentum and the day is fucked.

I quit going to work after I realized 90% of the time I'm just wasting my time doing pointless shit nobody cares about and not getting ahead in life.
I worked there a lot over the past 12 years and the wagie community was a major factor in my decision to not work anymore. NEETs did it to an extent as well but WAGIES are far worse.
Someone could give a long drawn out and factually accurate explanation of what would have to happen for me to even be able to one day buy a home and have a family and why working was fraudulent. The post would get a dozen responses of
>WHY SHOULD YOU EAT?
>when you know you know
>economic collapse is coming
>stack metals the end is nigh
>keep waging faggot
>100% eoy silver will reach 5k an ounce
Or some equally long schizo post explaining numerology, using bible scripture and random posts here explaining how by the end of the year billions will be unemployed because of the AI.
Here we are.
After seeing the nothingburger today I came here just to watch the seething and suicide letters. It’s beyond EOY, the jobs didn't disappear, the banks didn't collapse (unfortunately), no more use cases and all the dirty laundry is out in the air now.
It’s not going to be Millennial's Economic Paradise, it will not be the Roaring 20's all over again. The world will not be descending into hyper deflation and prosperity (as was obsessed over for months/years) it will be going on as usual with no major gains or rewards.
I will enjoy watching wagies burn every step along the way.
Why?
Because those fucking idiots deserve it all.
